TRINIDAD: West Indies sealed an emphatic victory over Zimbabwe by eight wickets in the 11th Place Play-Off of the ICC Under-19 World Cup, here on Monday. Set to chase 257, the home side sealed the victory comfortably in the end despite a poor start; losing their first wicket for just one run. The top-order batters – Teddy Bishop and Kevin Wickham batted brilliantly and partnered strongly to anchor the run chase. ANTIGUA: Pakistan have defeated Bangladesh by six wickets in the 5th Place Play-Off Semi-final of the ICC Under-19 World Cup, here on Monday. Sett to chase a paltry 176, Pakistan sealed a comfortable victory by six wickets and 21 balls to spare, thanks to the wicket-keeper batter – Haseebullah Khan’s magnificent innings. He scored a brilliant 79 off 107 balls, laced with four boundaries and as many sixes, while the rest of the batters also chipped in with their valuable contribution. Shahid Afridi recovers from COVID-19, set to enter the bubble

KARACHI: Pakistan’s star all-rounder – Shahid Afridi, who is set to represent Quetta Gladiators in the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has been recovered from COVID-19 and will enter the bio-secure bubble tomorrow. Shahid, who was previously asymptomatic has recovered from the widely spread, the star all-rounder will now enter the bio-secure bubble tomorrow where he will undergo another three-day isolation period to be able to join the squad. Sri Lanka thump South Africa in fifth Place Play-off Semi-final

NORTH SOUND: Sri Lanka sealed a convincing victory over South Africa; defeating the latter by 65 runs in the 5th place play-off semi final of the ICC Under-19 World Cup, here on Sunday. Set to chase 233, the South African batting line-up failed completely and was bowled for a paltry 167. India to host third Blind T20 Cricket World Cup in November

BANGALORE: World Blind Cricket Council (WBC) has announced that the third Blind T20 World Cup, will be held in India later this year in November. The decision regarding the hosting rights was made at a meeting of the WBC. The online meeting was chaired by Syed Sultan Shah, President WBC. While announcing the decision, Shah told that the meeting was attended by the officials of 10 different countries. “Ten countries participated in the meeting. The World Cup will be held in different cities of India in November,” he said. Shah also shared that the schedule and venues for the World Cup will be decided at the next executive meeting. DUBAI: International Cricket Council has banned the former Zimbabwe captain – Brendan Taylor after he accepted four charges of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code and one separate charge of breaching the Anti-Doping Code. Zalmi’s Zazai to miss first match against Gladiators due to COVID-19

KARACHI: Hazratullah Zazai of Peshawar Zalmi has been tested positive for COVID-19 and will their first match against Quetta Gladiators today in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 7.  According to the details, Zazai joined Zalmi’s camp four days ago. In the latest COVID-19 testing, Zazai was tested COVID-19 positive. He will now remain in isolation until he returns negative. KARACHI: Traffic Police of Sindh has revealed traffic plan for Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 7, scheduled to start on January 27 here at National Stadium.  According to the plan, except for one track of Sir Shah Suleman Road, all linked roads to the National Stadium will be opened for public traffic. The decision was taken for public convenience. Meanwhile, Sindh Security division shared the security plan for the matches. As many as 5650 security personals will be deployed around the stadium. Spectators are advised to bring their original CNIC and vaccination certificate to enter the stadium. Parking for spectators have been arranged at Hakeem Saeed Ground.
